In division 1 of the Southampton Chess League the top two teams Hamble A and Fareham both enjoyed home victories to extend their advantage above the teams below them in the table, while in Division 2 the match between the top two Salisbury A and Southampton C finished all square.

In division 3 Salisbury B and Chandlers Ford A both achieved wins with the latter achieving their success despite having nine players unavailable, although their opponents University B were also not at full strength. The division 4 match between University C and Southampton D finished all square.
