SCL Update 02/01/19

Apologies for the lack of updates, but hope to remedy this shortly.

Hampshire Chess Congress 2019

After more than 25 years of writing the chess column for the Southern Daily Echo in which every league result during that time appearing in the paper and this process being started many years before me by the late Iain Stenhouse I have finally given up on this and in fact the only sport news that now appears in the paper is news on Southampton and Eastleigh football clubs. However the Hampshire Chronicle is able to publish information on clubs in its’ own catchment area such as Chandlers Ford and Winchester.

At the halfway stage in the Southampton League Ringwood B and Ringwood C lead divisions 3 and 5 respectively with 100% records, while Division 1 is very tight at the top with every team having lost at least once and no team having won more than three of their five matches. Division 2 sees Hamble B and Basingstoke A setting the pace and Salisbury C lead Division 4, but Southampton D who have drawn four of their five matches are also unbeaten.

Happy New Year to everyone.
