In the top of the table Division 1 match Southampton A and Ringwood A drew 2.5-2.5 and the title is effectively a two horse race between them. They are level on match points, but Ringwood have a superior game points total. In their two remaining matches both teams play Hamble A, while Southampton A play Salisbury A and Ringwood A play Southampton B.

Salisbury A achieved their first points of the season when they beat Hamble A 3-2, but are still certain to finish bottom of the table.

Ringwood B beat Chandlers Ford d 3-1, but the result was not unexpected with the Ringwood bottom board being higher graded than the Chandlers Ford top board. However Chandlers Ford drew the two matches in which their player had the white pieces and at one r=time had a good position on board 3,

Chandlers Ford A were again beaten 3-2 by University B despite having a full strength team available and now University teams have won all five matches against Chandlers Ford teams this season. For the second time in this fixture Mo Leily playing on board 5 snatched victory from the jaws of victory to win the match for his team.
