Hampshire Junior Chess Association

The Hampshire Junior Chess Association was founded in 1975 and aims to promote chess for junior (aged eighteen or less) chess players who reside or attend a school in the County of Hampshire. HJCA coordinates the organisation of events, organises its own events, manages Hampshire junior teams and generally manages junior chess activity in the Hampshire area. Our focus is to grow chess in schools, clubs, grow teams and support the senior teams that represent Hampshire.

Mickey has represented Hampshire at Correspondence Chess for many seasons. He started to play by correspondence in 1984 due to working shifts, nowadays he plays solely by correspondence as there are no local clubs nearby.
