British Chess Championships

The British Chess Championships takes place from Saturday 29th July to Sunday 6th August and may now be entered online. The event is organised by the English Chess Federation and is a Tradewise Grand Prix Event. There are more than 25 events at the tournament offering something for players of all standards with several events limited to specific age groups encouraging younger players to enter. Certain events are FIDE-rated and require ECF Gold membership or Silver for non FIDE-rated events and rapid-plays whilst the British Championships proper is open only to exempted or qualified players.
