Southampton Individual Championship 2001 - 2002

The Southampton Individual Championship for 2001 / 2002 was won by Fraser McLeod of Southampton Chess Club. 

For those of you who are interested in playing next season Tom Anderson (the controller) has supplied the Rules of the competition. The game from which the trophy was probably decided has been supplied by Fraser.

Games

McLeod, Fraser - Anderson, Tom

Rules of Competition

  1. All-play-all, with either one or two games against each opponent, depending on the number of entrants.

  2. Games are played under standard tournament conditions and rules, and are BCF graded.

  3. Home player has choice of venue, usually his/her own home, and the Black pieces. Date of play mutually agreed between players.

  4. Time controls: 36 moves in 75 mins, followed by 15 min quickplay finish. No adjournments.

  5. Games to be completed by end of March. Being an all-play-all, players must commit to playing all their games, whether or not they are doing well in the tournament - defaulting is unacceptable.
