Hampshire Congress November 2010
The Hampshire Congress (also known as the "Hampshire Individual Tournament") will be held from Friday 12th - Sunday 14th November 2010 at the spacious Eastleigh College. All chess players are welcome.
There are three cups to be awarded, together with numerous other prizes for various grading levels.
The Congress, which has been increasingly popular over recent years, is open to players of all strengths - there are three sections:
- Open
- Major - Under ECF 160 grade
- Minor - Under ECF 125 grade
Each section has cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
In addition, each section has a grading prize for the best player with a grade under the specified level at the following grades:
- Open - an under 175 grading prize
- Major - an under 140 grading prize
- Minor - an under 100 grading prize
And also the following cups are awarded:
- Silver Rook trophy (illustrated centre) for the winner of the highest placed Hampshire player in the Open
- The Len Walters trophy (the board partially shown on the left) for the best player under ECF 175.
- The Parsons Cup (for the Minor Tournament winner)
- The Peter Marshall Cup for the Major tournament winner.
