1986 - 1987  County Matches Analysis

 

Not enough grades available to produce a grading performance this time. If anyone can fill in the gaps, please supply and I will update. 

 

Both Hampshire teams scored 50% this season, with 3 wins and 3 losses each. The majority of the losses were close though, with two 8½ to 7½ and two 9 - 7 losses. The wins were more convincing, with a 13½ - 2½ win against Cornwall B being the best. A number of good performances were seen, with P.Symington only dropping the one draw in 5 games being the best.

 

Other players who had an excellent season were J.Corfield, Len Walters, Dave Thompson, Andrew Smith, J.Pillay, Phillip Rossiter and Steve Le Fevre. This also seems to be the last season that Michael Adams played against Hampshire and he was held to a draw by Michael Yeo (Michael Yeo has supplied this game - thanks)
